Call ducklings

Small, round, and famously chatty.

Call ducks are the little ones: a bantam breed with short bills, round heads, and a loud, cheerful voice out of all proportion to their size. They stay small as adults, tame down quickly with handling, and are happy on a backyard pond or a kiddie pool they can splash in every day.

Ducks are flock animals and are unhappy alone, so we sell ducklings in pairs or more.

Blue-eyed lop bunnies

Soft ears down, blue eyes up.

Our lops are bred for the pale blue eyes that make people stop and look twice, and for the easy, laid-back temperament lops are known for. They are held every day from birth, so by the time they leave they are used to laps, being picked up, and kids who want to say hello.

Bunnies go home once they are fully weaned and eating on their own, never before eight weeks.

How reserving works

From hello to pick-up in four steps.

Ducklings hatch and litters arrive on their own schedule, so we work from a short waiting list rather than keeping animals on hand.

  1. Say hello.

    Send a message with what you are hoping for: ducklings or a bunny, how many, and any color preference.

  2. We tell you what is coming.

    We reply with what is hatching or due next, when it will be ready, and the price.

  3. A deposit holds your spot.

    Once you are happy, a small deposit puts your name on the list. It comes off the final price.

  4. Pick up at the farm.

    When they are ready, we set a time for you to come out, meet them, and take yours home.

About the farm

A family farm on the lake.

Lake Paradise Farm is run by our family, and the animals are very much a family project. The kids help with feeding, water, and the daily handling that turns a nervous duckling or bunny into a friendly one.

We are starting with two things we love and know well, Call ducks and blue-eyed lops, and we would rather raise a few animals well than a lot of them quickly.

Before you bring one home

  • Ducklings need a heat lamp for their first weeks and a shallow dish of water they can dip their whole bill in.
  • Ducks are never sold singly. Two is the minimum for a happy duck.
  • Bunnies need a hutch out of direct sun, unlimited hay, and daily time out to stretch and be held.
  • Check that your town allows backyard poultry before reserving ducklings.
